Most wonderful time of the year week4

Where did the summer go? Kids are back in school, with all the insanity that goes with it, vacations are a not-so-distant memory, and it is once again time to get busy with the important things in life...crafting for the holidays! Yay! All of September the Dream Team will be featuring all the new goodies we have for the "Most wonderful time of the year", the fall and winter holiday season. New stencil designs, new dies, and...brand new embossing folders featuring some of our top-selling designs, all to be found on-line through the Stencil with Style web-site, or your local papercrafting store.

I know I keep saying this is my favourite and thats my favourite but this weeks post has a few favourites.  The first is one of the new Dreamweaver Stencils the Tall Poinsettia (this will be one of my all time favourites) and the other things are the Molten Magic Technique using the stencil and lastly the use of patterned paper and cutting into it so that my design is tucked into the paper.

Here's my creation for this week:

This is what you will need:-
Dreamweaver Stencil LL3046 Tall poinsettia
Silver Embossing Paste
White card
Burgundy card
Patterned paper
Dreamweaver Metallic FX powders :- Forestry, Rose Berry, Plum Royale,Amber Gold, Kiwi.
Stencil brush
Palette knife
Low Tack Tape
Silver Mirri board
Heat Gun
Cleaning products for stencil

And this is how I created the card:

1 Take the Stencil and attached to a piece of white card on all 4 sides apply the silver paste, and remove stencil place in water for cleaning.  Take the Dreamweaver Metallic FX powders and using a stencil brush tap the powders over the paste design in the areas you want coloured.

2 Using a heat gun start to heat the design. I always give a quick blast of heat to the back of the card before concentrating on the front.  As the paste is heated it starts to blister and bubble.  If large bubble appear I tend to burst them so the there is no danger of them cracking and flaking off when the design is finished.

3 Cut all the matts and layers and with the layer of patterned paper cut around the design so that the stenciled design will tuck in. Put your card together.

4 You can add to the card by using ribbon around the spine.  I decided that I wanted mine to be clean and simple.

That is the card done, hope you like it, this is what the rest of the team have been creating this week.  Enjoy :

September week 2

Where did the summer go? Kids are back in school, with all the insanity that goes with it, vacations are a not-so-distant memory, and it is once again time to get busy with the important things in life...crafting for the holidays! Yay! All of September the Dream Team will be featuring all the new goodies we have for the "Most wonderful time of the year", the fall and winter holiday season. New stencil designs, new dies, and...brand new embossing folders featuring some of our top-selling designs which are coming soon.

I don't know about you but I have so many cards to make I have to make cards quickly.  I think this is one of the more easy and quick ones that i have done. So here is my creation:-

This is what you will need:-
Dreamweaver Stocking dies DG692
Dreamweaver Quatrefoil Stencil LX7027
White card
Red Card Silver mirri card
White pearl card
Glossy white paste
Stampendous crystal glitter
A sentiment stamp of your choice I used  Woodware Clear Magic Stamp set FRS175

And this is what you do:-

1 Take a piece of white card and cover with a thin layer of white Glossy Paste, to give texture I simply used my palette knife to dab over the top of the paste to achieve slight 'peaks' and dimension.  I then scattered a good layer of Stampendous crystal glitter over this removed the excess and put this back in the pot.  The glossy, glitter piece was put to one side to dry completely.

2 Take a piece of red card and use the Quatrefoil stencil to emboss I used my Big Shot to do this. To add a little bit of shading or definition to the red embossed card I used a dark pink ink pad and the Strie technique

3 Take the large stocking die and cut out the bottom part  of the stocking from the red embossed card, and once the white glitter card is dry cut out the top part of the stocking from this.

4 Using a matt of white pearl card I placed the stocking onto this and made sure that I overlapped the top of the stocking with the bottom.

5 The last couple of steps were to put crystal self adhesive gems on to the embossed area of the stocking and to stamp the sentiment at the bottom.

There is my card quick and simple.

The rest of the team have been busy working on more lovely projects, here is the list.  Enjoy.

Of course, we have our monthly challenge for you to play along, so post your own holiday creations, and use the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the prize at the end of the month.

If you are in the UK or Europe and would like to purchase any of the products for the above project they are all available from The Stampman
