The decoration on the card blank was done by using small pieces of scrap card and paper, needless to say my bit box is slightly smaller.
So here is the card
This is what I used
A4 sheet cream card
Scraps of cream, gold mirri, kraft, 3 different patterned cards and papers
Stampendous Penpattern butterflies
Self adhesive lace
Small buttons
Happy retirement sentiment stamp
Leaf die
Sepia versafine ink pad
Glossy accents
Adhesives of your choice
This is how the Card was made
1 Take an A4 sheet of cream card and fold in half.
2 Take one of the scraps of patterned card and trim so that there is a 5mm border all around the front of card. This piece is attached to the front of the base card.
3 Cut a gold mirri oval, 2 rectangles for the sides and a smaller rectangle for the sentiment. Next cut cream of the same shapes but ensure the cream have a 5mm border round them The exception to this is the sentiment panel which needs to be cut 3cm longer.
4 Take the cream side panels and attach the self adhesive lace to these, overlap edges to the reverse of the panel. Place these panels in the centre of the gold mirri panels using a strong glue. I used glossy accents.
5 The gold and cream ovals are attached together (put the glue only towards the centre)
6 To get the layer out of your card to your liking place all the panels and place in position. and attach once the design is done..
7 Take the sentiment piece of card and stamp your required sentiment in the centre. Mark 1cm up from the short edge and the centre of the piece. Cut from the edge to the dot and then cut from the corner to the centre dot on each side and at both ends to get the bow ends.
8 Take the silhouette flower punch and in one of the decorative papers cut 8 to 10 flowers. Some of these are worked in pairs and some are single..
9 Use one of the flowers and gently curve the petals gently with your fingers, stick 2 of the flowers together. Leave 2 or 3 single. In the centre of each flower stick a small button.
10 Use a small scrap of patterned paper and stamp the butterfly in sepia versafine, fussy cut the butterfly and then cover the .whole butterfly with glossy accents and leave to dry. Let this COMPLETELY dry.
11 When the floral pieces are complete arrange the flowers where you want them to be. The leaves are tucked under the edge of the cream oval.
12 The sentiment panel stuck at one end and allowed to dry and then repeat with the other and and stick in place.
13 Take the butterfly and place this on the card.
14 Finally tie a piece of ribbon around the spine and tie a bow.
............and there you have the card completed.. This card does take a little longer as there are quite a few pieces.
Hope you like. Thanks for stopping by. For more inspiration take a look at Woodware blog,
Bye for now
